What Parents Say

My child was falling behind in class, was overwhelmed by homework and distracted by too many other students in her classes. She rarely contributed in the classroom and was labeled as “shy and awkward”. We always tell her ADHD means “Always, Delightful, Happy and Determined,” but with her ADHD in the public school environment, she was Always Dismayed, unHappy, and Discouraged. Mrs. B. and CIA has made a huge difference. She is working at grade level, made the honor roll, is enthusiastic about school and doesn’t dread the weekends and vacation periods ending…she actually looks forward to going back to school! She participates in class and her self-confidence has grown. Mrs. B. encouraged her to try out for a role in the school play this year and may “shy awkward” kid is blossoming. I have never seen an administrator so committed to student personal growth and student individual success.

Current Parent

I never thought I would be able to accomplish such great things, and without your support and the support of the other CI teachers I wouldn’t be nearly as successful. I am so grateful for all the help you always provide for me. -CI 12th grader [currently enrolled in third college class concurrently with finishing high school]

12th grade Student

My daughter got into four universities including St. Mary’s. We are very proud of her! I give credit to CI Academy for the educational leaps she made in comprehension and creativity. Her time there was worth every penny.

For the first time ever, our son has told friends and family that he loves his school. This is huge! I needed to step away and collect myself when he said that… We are incredibly happy with our decision to join the CI community.

Adam N. (Parent)

The classes are small so they can cater to the individual student and their unique learning style. this makes them much more effective teacher than a teacher who has to teach one way to a class of 20 or 30 students because there is no time or space to deal with individualized instruction.

Current Parent

My son’s grades dropped greatly as his class size grew in public schools. He struggled with his attention and focus…I can finally say ” I am a proud parent of an honor roll student.”  My son finally likes school again!

Your patience and truly caring for our children like they are your own is such a gift and blessing to them, the school and to us as parents. THANK YOU!

No one judges each other. We all hang out together. It’s not about what grade you are in; it’s about friendship.

9th grade Student

My 2 children graduated from this school, and I couldn’t have found a better match for them. Each student receives tons of individualized attention and the curriculum is customized to each student. And the teachers were wonderful about keeping me in the loop about what’s working and what’s not, not just with my not-academically oriented son, but my straight A daughter.

Betty A. (Alumni Parent)

The school’s small student teacher ratio (8:1), amazing teachers, and rigorous curriculum is why my daughter attends.  Teachers do not assign busy work and any homework is an extension of in class learning.  Highly recommended.

Helping Others

Charitable
Drives

Student create and enact a Social Action Project each school year. These projects increase awareness about important causes, raise funds to improve our community, and provide opportunities for families to become actively involved in service.

Some 2019-2020 Projects:
-a snack drive for a program that provides education and enrichment support to refugees
-a drive for feminine products for Sacramento people who are homeless
-a website made to help LGBT homeless youth find resources

To the left are some of our students at River City Food bank. As a school, we spent a day packaging food and distributing it to guests who visited the food bank.
