Rock ‘N’ Art

Rock ‘N’ Art is a four-week exploration of awesome performing arts for KIDS AGED 10 to 18!

Students will hone their craft in acting, dancing, playing instruments, and singing as well as learn the art of sound recording, navigating the performance industry, and movie making. They will also work with a team of peers in a rock band and/or acting troupe. Each day will have  theme which will address a different amazing area of the performing arts!

Located at Capital Innovations Academy (1828 Tribute Rd., Suite H, Sacramento).

The Rock N Art Symposium at the end of camp (Sat Aug 5 at 7pm) will be a showcase of the students’ work at the Silver Orange teen center (922 57th St, Sacramento, CA 95819). During excursions outside of class, students will have the opportunity to see performers in action and become a part of the living arts culture of Northern California.

Arts Excursions:

  • George Na’ope Hula Festival at the Holiday Inn Capitol Plaza

  • Leonardo da Vinci “Machines in Motion” at the Aerospace Museum of CA

  • California State Fair

  • Arts Advocacy at the California Museum (a new exhibit of original works by developmentally-disabled artists residing across California. The exhibit seeks to challenge assumptions about people with developmental disabilities.)

  • Raging Waters

  • More trips to be posted as they are arranged!

Traditional academic tutoring and/or assistance in completing the summer reading assignment will also be offered upon request.
