Making Private School An Option

Capital Innovations Academy is a small private school located in the Arden area of Sacramento committed to allowing our students’ interests and needs guide our instructional and curriculum choices. In small classes of no more than ten and a campus of no more than thirty-five, students receive the individual attention required to move at their own pace, thus allowing them to excel and move faster in some areas while spending the needed time to gain comprehension and retention in others. There is emphasize on the “how” and “why” and making connections to current day issues and applications when learning rather than focusing on memorization and repetition. In addition to our unique academic program, students are encouraged to pursue their interests in the arts & sciences via our majors and elective courses. Students can major in art, science, social studies, music, or theater & film as well as take elective courses such as kitchen chemistry, robotics, computer programming, debate, and more. These classes allow students to find their area of specialty and to explore potential college majors and future career options.

Our model treats each student as an individual person with his/her/their own wants, needs, way of learning, and manner of being. This has allowed us to cultivate an environment where diversity is celebrated and students, teachers, and parents feel they are a part of a family. Because of this, our school has attracted a wide variety of students from all over the Greater Sacramento area (and some beyond it)

Unfortunately, due to the current economic climate, families are seeing costs soar across the board and being able to afford private school is becoming further and further out of reach for many.

This is where YOU can help!

OUR MISSION: To provide a full ride, two year scholarship to a 7th grade student who has financial need and fits at least one of the following categories:

  1. The student is struggling in the traditional learning environment due to a learning disability, slowed processing, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and/or high functioning autism. We pride ourselves on providing a safe and nurturing learning environment for students with a wide variety of special needs and mental health struggles.
  2. The student identifies as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. We have an unusually high percentage of LGBTQ+ students at CI. Our school provides a safe, accepting environment where issues that surface at other schools (the bathroom problem, proper pronouns or preferred name use, etc.) are non-existent. CI embraces students of all gender identities, gender expressions, and sexualities and encourages students to be themselves.
  3. The student is a person of color. We are proud to be one of the most culturally and racially diverse private schools in Sacramento with students from a wide variety of backgrounds, beliefs, and family origins.
  4. The student is gifted or advanced, capable of skipping one or more grade/s ahead of their same age peers. Our small class size and school environment allow for us to support advanced students in progressing at a quicker space without the social stigma or awkwardness of other schools.
  5. The student demonstrates a special interest and aptitude in an area of the arts and/or STEM.
  • By providing a two year scholarship to a seventh grade student, the scholarship student will benefit from the academic support and innovative curriculum approach that our program provides as a keystone preparatory step towards high school. We feel it is essential we find financial backing to make possible the funding of two years of tuition (both 7th and 8th grade) so that the scholarship student can have a full CI experience.
  • The scholarship would be granted to an incoming 7th grade student in the 2024-2025 school year.

COSTS INVOLVED:
$21,000 This includes full tuition for two years, registration and administrative fees as well as a projection of trip and supply fees. The field trip and supply fees are included in the projected need for the scholarship as we want the scholarship student to be able to experience all aspects of our program.
