I have had a love of learning and a desire to help others to do the same for as long as I can remember. Teaching is my passion because it allows me to share my knowledge while simultaneously learning from my students. Each student has a unique perspective to offer to the classroom, our community, and to the world. School should be a place where students feel heard and like they belong. This is one reason why I’m proud to be a part of the Capital Innovations Academy community. During my time at this school, I’ve witnessed a caring community where teachers go above and beyond to meet the needs of each individual student and where students have a desire to connect with and support one another.
I am very excited to be teaching Social Science at CI Academy this year. While I have experience teaching a variety of subjects, history is where my heart is. I look forward to creating artistic lessons that will provide students an alternative way to express their thinking and create a personal way for them to connect with history.
